Google is making waves with its AI advancements, pushing Gemini’s in-depth research mode to 40 languages and introducing a potential “AI Mode” in search.
The expanded research feature for Google One AI premium users promises multilingual support, offering tools to create research plans, find and refine relevant information, and generate comprehensive reports. Supported languages include Arabic, Hindi, Spanish, French, and Chinese. However, Google faces challenges in ensuring accurate native language summaries, particularly in Hindi. The company is tackling this with native data sources, rigorous quality checks, and local team reviews.
Simultaneously, Google is rumored to launch a dedicated “AI Mode” tab within its search engine. This would mirror the Gemini AI chatbot interface, enabling users to ask follow-up questions directly from search results. Found within a beta APK of the Google Search app, the feature might include voice-enabled queries, signaling a move to rival OpenAI’s ChatGPT Search, which has surged in popularity.
By blending AI functionality into its search and Gemini ecosystem, Google is sharpening its competitive edge, aiming to redefine user experiences across platforms.
